Enhancement to Battery Charging System Challenge: The client was about to release a new portable computer battery charging system that communicated with an "intelligent" battery. A new lower-cost battery component had been identified, but it was completely incompatible with components already in use by the client. Action: Developed firmware that would automatically discriminate between the two battery types, pemitting them to be intermixed freely, and invisibly to the end user. Completed project using an existing, modified, hardware platform, making the firmware available when the first of the new charger units became available. Result: Sped product development, and created an adaptive system that functioned invisibly to the user.
